West Chester Farmhouse

West Chester Farmhouse

Giving this Historic Farmhouse a facelift, while remaining true to its roots.

A room full of built ins, two beautiful fireplaces, a blue claw foot tub, and all of the charm of a working horse farm. This project was full of classic patterns and warm colors to make it ooze cozy vibes.

When our clients contacted us for help in this space they wanted something that felt very Farmhouse. With a large living room attached to their Primary Bedroom, and a bathroom that needed a little TLC, we needed to make the three rooms feel cohesive, yet individual. To accomplish this we used coordinating wallpaper and fabric along with complimentary colors. Walking from their bedroom, into their bathroom, then finally entering the living room you are greeted by a light and airy vibe that turns into cozy and welcoming as you land in the living room. With three young boys we knew that every piece of furniture had to withstand crayons, wrestling, and the regular evening dance parties. We paired slipcovered couches with two leather recliners for durable yet comfortable seating. Swivel the recliners towards the fireplace and you have the perfect setting for a quiet nightcap after all of those kiddos are sound asleep.

This low profile couch paired with blue and green pillows in timeless patterns adds to the fresh yet classic vibe.

These grey built ins with blue/green undertones help to bring out the variety of colors in the wood touches throughout the room.

“We love it so much we are having trouble getting out of bed.” This is exactly what we wanted to hear. Creating a calm sanctuary in a Primary Bedroom is always top on our list. Light and airy textiles, grounding colors, and small gold touches give this room the perfect amount of warmth while accentuating the character. It’s hard to choose a favorite part of this room, but the painted window seat, whimsical valance, and classic wall sconces might take the cake.

Painting the trim in this room to match the built ins in the Living Room help to tie these two rooms together.

Adding these two swivel chairs at the end of the bed creates another space to curl up in.

The Bathroom was the room that inspired the rest of the design. Knowing that we wanted to paint the trim this dark color and add wallpaper to the top sparked the design for the rest of the spaces. This wallpaper is a favorite. With its timeless pattern and color we helped to freshen up this bathroom without making it feel too modern.

This was the original color of the tub. Knowing we wanted to play off of that helped us pick the rest of the color scheme for the space.

The gold accents help to update the space without losing the classic feel.
